It’s been a while since I last posted here, so I figured it was time for a real update.
We’re still out in Las Vegas. My wife, daughter and I have been here quite a few years now, and our daughter just turned 18. She’s at that exciting and scary stage where she’s trying to figure out her path. She’s really into culinary stuff and content creation, so she’s been experimenting with cooking and creating her YouTube channel which now has over 10,000 subscribers. Watching her try to find her way has been cool, but it also reminds me how tough it is out here when you’re just starting.
Living in Vegas has been interesting. The cost of everything keeps going up like crazy. Rent, groceries, gas, it all adds up fast. I’ve been working a lot of hours just to keep us afloat, and on top of that I’ve been helping my wife deal with some ongoing dental and health issues. It’s been a grind, but we’re pushing through.
In the middle of all this real life stuff, I’ve been steadily working on Subject 15. I decided to start releasing it chapter by chapter on the site. I think it makes the story more fun to read. You get to follow along week by week as things slowly unravel. It’s completely free, and I’m hoping that over time it finds its audience.
Writing this story has become my main creative outlet and something I’m really passionate about. My long term goal is to keep building it until it’s big enough to turn into a real career. I know that won’t happen overnight, but I’m committed to putting the work in.
