I've always been someone who couldn't wait for the future. That awesome future I saw in science fiction movies with flying cars, health pods that could cure any disease, and space travel. I also imagined robots milling about doing all the boring jobs that humans hate. At this point, we still don't have any flying cars, space travel or health pods, but robots and AI is becoming very real, very quickly.
So, let us humans get real about Artificial Intelligence (AI). Yes I agree, it's fascinating and reality altering, but honestly, if we're not careful, it's gonna bite us in the collective ass. I'm not merely expressing some deluded fantasy straight out of a dystopian sci-fi movie like Terminator or The Matrix; I'm warning everyone about the real dangers of AI's evolution and I'm doing it with a blog post, not a mail bomb like the unabomber did when he tried to warn of the same dangers 45 years ago.
At this time, AI's crawling into every nook and cranny of our lives, whether you've noticed or not. Carefully (or uncarefully) constructed AI programs have been cast upon us, like fire to a group of huddled cavemen. From learning algorithms to advanced neural networks, it's more like giving primitive man a nuclear reactor. I do agree that it is and can do wonders for us, like – diagnosing diseases, driving cars, and whatnot. But here's the problem – it can easily turn against us and send us into an extinction level event.
AI is a double-edged sword. On one side, it's promising us an advanced future with technological miracles. but on the other side is a system of control and destruction of human endeavor. Automation's already kicking many jobs to the curb, leaving regular working people scrambling.
People think AI will only replace industrial jobs, like with robots and machines, but look around... what do you see already happening? Robot police dogs, self-checkout kiosks in almost every department store, (the ones that are left anyway) and basically anything on the internet, like building websites, creating videos and creating media content. Even customer service representatives are going by the wayside with AI customer service and sales. They can make AI behave and sound like a regular human being that will understand your questions and statements, and furthermore, can react appropriately. This is great for corporations. Businesses would much rather employ AI bots that can answer every question and pitch an upgrade to every sale. Not to mention, AI bots do not need healthcare or sleep. They're always on time and will work 24/7. Companies don't have to pay them a dime and their stock price continues to climb.
What job do you have? Could an artificially intelligent robot replace you? Don't think so? Think again. Even Hollywood is entertaining the idea of using AI instead of actors, writers etc. The technology is getting so good, soon you won't be able to differentiate a human being from an AI being on the screen.
I'm basically saying that a sudden and widespread replacement of human labor with AI, without considering the societal repercussions, could lead to economic and social collapse. Mass unemployment, economic inequality, and the absence of traditional societal structures will absolutely result in chaos. Human beings are happy when they're producing, but what if they can no longer produce? Hello civil unrest! Sure, Big-Daddy Government might give us all Universal Basic Incomes and feed us, but the Devil loves idle hands and a people with no purpose will eventually resort to violence and self-destruction.
What about the people who control AI? What happens when they suddenly see 8 billion people as a liability on this planet instead of an asset? Would they do something crazy, like exterminate them with a virus? Sounds like a crazy conspiracy theory right? Don't underestimate the thirst for power certain people have. You may love your friends and family, but elite billionaires find most of the human population to be useless eaters. Termites, eating away at "their" precious resources. With all the propaganda about climate change, they may even convince themselves that killing off 8 billion people is a "good" thing. With AI doing all the labor, they can repopulate a world in their image, as they will surely see themselves as gods. I'm not saying this is what's going to happen, I'm just giving you insight into what the world could become if serial killers controlled the most powerful technology on the planet.
The truth is, at the very least, an elite group with control over all AI may use the technology to enforce totalitarian control. Surveillance, manipulation of information, and suppression of dissent could become tools for maintaining dominance. If an elite group of wealthy psychopaths views humans as expendable, the use of AI to eliminate the need for human labor could lead to mass dehumanization. The focus might shift solely to technological efficiency, neglecting the value and dignity of human life. Again... when humans are no longer needed, what do you think the powerful few will want to do about 8 billion useless eaters?
The elimination of the need for humans, especially without ethical considerations, will certainly provoke social unrest and resistance. Regular men and women will rightly resist the oppressive use of AI and the disregard for human well-being, potentially leading to a massive civil war between "humans for humanity" and those that crave dominance.
Back to more present dangers, as AI is integrated into all of the worlds most crucial systems – from power grids to military tech – the global security alarm is blaring CODE RED. This isn't just about cyber threats; we're talking about giving bad actors a golden ticket to cause major destruction. It's like giving a toddler a box of hand grenades and hoping for the best. One madman with an arsenal of nukes could utilize AI to make sure his nukes launched while others could not. Let's not even entertain the idea of AI becoming self-aware and ending what it perceives to be the greatest threat; us.
I understand if you feel like the idea of superintelligent AI taking over is like a sci-fi pipedream, but open your eyes and see what's happening. The nightmare could very well turn real. We're talking about machines getting smarter than us, making decisions on their own. You can't predict that kind of chaos, and once it's unleashed, humanity might be fighting for survival against it, nevermind the psychopathic Cabal.
I'm not saying scrap AI altogether. We just need slow it down before it's too late. We must highly regulate this technology, place some very strict ethical guidelines, and make sure AI works for us, not the other way around. We're at a crossroads and if we keep pushing forward blindly, and we most certainly will regret it.
