How you choose to communicate is up to you, but once you start, you are on your way to an amazing number of changes that you will not even believe.
There are 8 vital steps to start making magic happen listed below. Follow them to a T and do not waiver once you start. Not all your communications will be received, acknowledged or returned, but don’t let that slow you down.
1: Create goals.
This seems too simple, but it is the most important step to follow. A life without purpose is not a life at all. There must be something you are aiming for in life. Something big, way up there in the future. Some people will say their number one goal is to be rich. That is a fine goal. Though, one cannot simply wish to be rich without at least a dozen other goals to precede it. One needs to create a path of goals that lead to being rich in order for it to be so. Then, when that goal is met, new goals must be created, or unhappiness shall surely follow. So, make a few ultimate goals and then create all the goals that lead to the ultimate goals. Use the remaining steps below to help you get there.
2: Contact everyone you know at least once per month.
See what people are up to. How are they? What’s new in their life? Do not look to Facebook for this information, but instead, go to their house, call them, or send them a text or email. (See communication effectiveness chart above). If people present you with a problem that they are facing then say the following, “How can I help?” and then proceed accordingly.
3: Create at least one post each day on all your social media platforms.
When you do not post on social media, people forget about you. It is the nature of the world we live in. Want proof? Turn off your birthday notifications and see how many friends wish you a Happy Birthday… you will not find many that do. You must communicate that you are alive. When you make a post, it can be about anything, it does not matter. Make sure you acknowledge and reply to all comments. If someone is negative or trolling, go ahead block them because you do not need them in your life.
4: Do one good deed per day.
Find someone to help and help them. It could be a homeless person who needs a few bucks. It could be picking up trash on your street or feeding a stray cat. Don’t ask for anything in return and don’t tell anyone that you’ve done it. Keep it to yourself, this is very important. Commit to just ONE good deed per day and don’t go to sleep until it’s done.
5: Create something and share it.
This could be anything from a drawing, a painting, a song, a coffee table or a short story. The sky is the limit. Just create something and share that you created it. If you really like what you did, keep doing it! If you do not have an artistic bone in your body (highly unlikely) then do your best anyway. Creating is living and it will keep your soul happy.
6: Accept and participate in every communication and invitation.
Whether it’s a telemarketing call or a friend asking you to go bowling. Do it. Stay away from illegal activities or Nigerian Scammers but make everything else a go. If you get a call from a telemarketer who wants to sell you a vacation package, hear them out! You never know, it might be a great deal and you’ll have made their day better no matter the outcome. The key to this step is to be interested. Just be interested.
7: Eat and Sleep better.
Are you eating tons of junk food or fast food? Stop. Are you staying up too late and getting up early? Stop. Eat healthy and get the number of hours of sleep that your body requires each night. The body is a machine and it needs to be taken care of. The healthier your body is, the healthier your mind is, and a healthy mind can communicate and create a very bright future indeed.
8: Exercise.
You lose what you do not use. Sitting all day is worse than smoking. Every cell in your body has a unique job and what they hate most is being unemployed. Out of work cells get angry and things start breaking down. If you want your body to be happy and your mind to be sharp, exercise daily and make sure that every part of your body gets to participate. Walking is great but jogging or running is better. Not only could you possibly lose weight, but you will also strengthen your vascular system and heart. The key to longevity is using energy. Energy begets energy.
The great secret to happiness is to be a part of life. You have to live, to live. If you start communicating and getting involved with people, you’ll start to open up new communication lines and areas of activity that were hitherto unknown. Follow all the above 8 steps and your life will change for the better before you know it.
